Actor Michael McKean Struck on UWS - Local News - New York, NY break on michael mckean

& 13; The actor who portrayed Lenny on "Laverne & Shirley" and David St. Hubbins in "This Is Spinal Tap" was hospitalized after being struck by a car on the Upper West Side on Tuesday afternoon, sources said. & 13;

Michael McKean, 64, suffered a broken leg and facial lacerations when a car jumped the curb at 86 St. and Broadway, according to sources. He was being treated at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital

McKean lives on the Upper West Side with actress wife Annette O'Toole, and currently stars in "The Best Man" on Broadway. His manager told reporters McKeon had never missed a show until Tuesday night.

An actor with a wide comedic range and great musical skills, McKean first gained recognition as Lenny from the TV hit "Laverne & Shirley." He went on to play Spinal tap lead guitarist David St. Hubbins in the cult comedic classic "This is Spinal Tap."

McKean, a New York City native, also did a brief stint as cast member on SNL in 1994. In 2003, he reunited with Spinal Tap band mate and longtime collaborator Christopher Guest on "A Mighty Wind."
